About the Cleethorpes Chronicle
We are proud to be the only locally owned newspaper publisher in the area. We are a small business committed to providing the best possible service for our customers and readers alike.
Joint owners Mark Webb and Nigel Lowther have almost 40 years of collective newspaper experience. Nigel was born and raised in Cleethorpes (a Meggie) and Mark has lived in the community for many years. Both have young families, with their children educated in North East Lincolnshire schools.
We are part of the community with an office right in its heart, between St Peter’s Avenue and the Market Place. We believe a local newspaper should be the main source of information that underpins our day-to-day lives.
Unlike many local newspapers, The Chronicle is more than a five minute read. It is the type of paper you pick up and refer to over and over again.
Packed full of well written stories and features that relate to its readers’ lives, the Chronicle is a positively good read. Its seven-day television guide and 10 day ‘What’s on’ listings make it an essential weekly purchase.
The community, and the clubs, societies, schools and organisations which shape it, are always encouraged to contribute to inform readers about the many events and interests happening across the town and its surrounding villages.
Having spent most of my working life in newspapers, I am proud to be part of the Chronicle.
This weekly newspaper, owned by local people, provides a service to those people who prefer like to receive their news in a well edited, positive and passionately independent weekly digest. The Chronicle already reaches more than 25,000 adults every week and continues to grow.
The Chronicle is editorially led, serious news and journalism is never compromised. However, as a local business, we recognise the responsibility a local paper has in the community and that the success of every business and organisation is inextricably linked to ours.
Our advertising rate offers great value for money and simplicity too. We have one rate for all types of advertising, including recruitment.
In addition to good value, we understand the importance of a quality service and, as a new small business with a huge stake in the community, you can be sure we will do all we can to make sure your advertising produces results. Your success is our business.
I look forward to working with you in the years to come.
Cleethorpes and its surrounding villages are thriving.
The vast majority of its residents have a good quality of life, enriched by a healthy environment, good amenities and friendly locals. Their main focus is the best for their families and friends.
The Chronicle reflects these positive attributes.
Content is key to our success. We pride ourselves on the depth, quality and accuracy of our stories.
The newspaper is proud to have its roots in the community it serves, with each edition packed with names and faces.
Many contributors - from societies, schools and organisations - submit content on a regular basis. They feel part of the paper and we are delighted to have them on board.
Our newspaper is rich in content and passionate about celebrating local life. It is written and put together at our offices in the heart of the community. Our experienced team of journalists knows what makes it tick – we all live and breathe this wonderful area.
The newspaper focuses on issues, people and places. There is a comprehensive what’s on section, including a 10-day guide, plenty of sport and seven-day TV listings.
We are pleased our readers do not see it as pick-me-up, five-minute read, rather something they enjoy at their leisure and return to during the course of the week.
We are not complacent and we strive to improve further. But, with the community’s support, we have proved there is a growing demand for a local newspaper.
Our aim is to continue to make The Chronicle something that
community is proud of.
